Interior renovation for NIGRAPONTE bookstore

***

The intervention at Nigraponte bookshop allows the business to relocate to new premises, adapting the space to the needs of its activities and creating a larger, more versatile environment for retail, displays and creative workshops.

The bookshop combines the sale of books, games and toys with specialist stationery for drawing and painting. It also hosts small groups for arts and crafts, drawing and painting classes, adapting the space to the requirements of each activity.

The premises are arranged around a main open-plan area, shopfront display window, two mezzanine levels, a storeroom, entrance hall and toilet. The existing condition allows much of the current infrastructure to be retained, so the intervention focuses on improving the layout and overall functionality without the need for a full refurbishment.

The works include reorganising the entrance hall and toilet to improve accessibility, renewing affected finishes, upgrading internal wall surfaces and repainting the premises throughout. The necessary fire safety equipment and signage are also incorporated.

The furniture is tailored to the different uses of the space, with shelving, a counter, and tables and chairs for creative activities. The result is a more functional and versatile environment, designed to bring together specialist retail, learning and artistic exploration.
